Emergency Plumber Dungog.
We were contacted recently by a distressed customer in Dungog (Hunter Valley) who had sewer overflowing in her backyard. Within the hour, licensed plumber Danny was onsite to undertake an emergency blocked sewer repair.
Finding the source of the sewer blockage.
Once onsite, it was clear the problem was caused by a blocked sewer drain, causing the overflow. Unfortunately, the blockage couldn’t be cleared from the sewer access point at the rear of the property so Danny used the inspection camera to find the problem source. See photo above.
The camera quickly picked up that the old terracotta pipe was in poor condition and had sustained significant tree root damage, subsequently cracking and blocking the sewer line. Danny was able to temporarily stop the sewer leak with a short-term fix.

The long-term solution was to dig up and replace the old terracotta pipe with a new plastic sewer pipe that is impermeable to tree roots.
Once complete, plumber Danny replaced the grass that has been ruined by the sewer leak and digging up the old terracotta pipe with new turf.
